Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center (OHMC) is a member of the Oakwood Healthcare System, a nationally ranked leader in healthcare service delivery. OHMC is a full-service teaching hospital in partnership Wayne State University that has proudly been serving Southeastern Michigan for over 50 years.
Today, OHMC is a 658-bed hospital where hundreds of physicians and health care workers deliver high quality care every single day. Recently, this facility invested in a $110 million expansion, bringing state-of-the art surgery capabilities to Southeast Michigan. For the seventh time in eight years, OHMC has been recognized as one of the "Top 100" cardiology hospitals in the country. The emergency department in partnership with ER-One has also achieved clinical excellence recognition, pioneering the country's first 30 Minute Guarantee. This Program was awarded the Program of the Year for 2000 by Oakwood Health System, VHA Leadership Award for improving operational performance and service and received honorable mention for Corporate Achievement in Healthcare from Crain's Detroit Business Magazine. Most recently, Oakwood Healthcare Inc. was one of three proud reception of the 2007 Michigan Quality Leadership Award presented by the Michigan Quality Counsel.
